Re: Snow Leopard out on August 28

Some folks use third party software to more easily monitor Folding's progress, such as Increase 2.4.3 http://calxalot.net/InCrease/.

Re: New OS X installer w/6.24 - please test.

Re: Snow Leopard out on August 28

My experience is exactly the same as rgmerritt. While Folding@Home is indeed starting up each time I boot, the SysPref pane is still showing "disabled"; and clicking the start button there does indeed launch a second set of cores.

Re: Snow Leopard out on August 28

Rexrzer - Since the field in question, "Disabled", is a boolean class, it's represented in the file with either a <true/> or <false/> text value. A program like PlistEdit Pro displays this as "yes / no" in it's listing, and gives you a drop down dialog to change it. You can downl...

Re: Snow Leopard System Preferences Pane Problem

I found a solution to the problem involving the SysPref Pane setting never changing from "Disabled". I used a program called PlistEdit Pro.app to modify this file: Folding@home.plist - on my system this file lives in Macintosh HD / Library / LaunchDaemons. There's a Boolean variable labele...

Re: Snow Leopard out on August 28

Thanks for your reply, however the issue I describe is exactly the same when Increase is NOT up and running. As far as I can tell Increase has no impact on Folding's handling of its Systems Preference functionality. The SysPref Pane shows Folding@Home as "Disabled" even after clicking the ...

Re: Snow Leopard out on August 28

Just upgraded to Snow Leopard. In System Preferences, Folding@Home shows as Disabled. I can start it by clicking the Start Folding@Home button, and FAH will start up properly. However the Preferences Pane still shows "Folding@Home" as Disabled; and it does not auto-start the next time I lo...

Re: Mac OS X 10.5.4 EXC_CRASH (SIGQUIT)

You are correct, there are no obvious errors showing in the FAHlog.txt file. While FAH isn't seeing errors, Folding is nevertheless filling the Mac's CrashReporter Logs Here's the related snippet from the FAHlog: [13:53:19] Completed 500000 out of 500000 steps (100 percent) [13:53:19] Writing final ...

Why so many Crash Reports?

Folding is generating a lot of crash reports on my iMac, even though it appears the work units are completing OK. I get these just about every time a WU completes. Here's a snippet from today: Sep 18 09:54:21 RON-iMac edu.stanford.folding.client[52]: [13:54:21] - Writing 5538369 bytes of core data t...

Re: Mac OS X 10.5.4 EXC_CRASH (SIGQUIT)

Here's another example (this time with Mac OS X 10.5.5): Sep 18 09:54:21 RON-iMac edu.stanford.folding.client[52]: [13:54:21] - Writing 5538369 bytes of core data to disk... Mac OS X 10.5.4 EXC_CRASH (SIGQUIT)

My iMac is recording crashes everyday with the Folding app; although it seems to be running just fine and is returning results to you on a regular basis. I use InCrease. Here's a snippet from the error log (CrashReporter): Process: FahCore_a1.exe [14471] Path: ./FahCore_a1.exe Identifier: FahCore_a1...
