The startup has been troubled. The client has restarted itself about 5 times for Client-Core Commnication Errors and for the detection of a 2nd running process. I killed a 2nd Fah6 process in the Activity Monitor but the Client just started a new 2nd process.
The Client has now settled down. It is running 2 Fah6 processes and it is writing local files for each process at the same approximate time. It is now taking 43 minutes for completion of 1% compared to 23 minutes with 6.10beta2. It has completed 7% without a restart.
I do not think I should be running 2 fah6 processes but that is the way it wants to run. Am I not configured properly????
The WU is Project: 2605 (Run 17, Clone 172, Gen 78)
Please advise. Do I abort or continue running?
That sounds like the same thing that happen to me when I stopped the client first on the 8core mac Pro. I just completely removed the client then reinstalled. My guess is that either the installer isn't detecting the previous installation correctly when it has been disabled through the control panel, or its the bug that sometimes prevents the cores from shutting down correctly when you try to disable folding tripping the installer up.
To completely uninstall, you want to delete these 4 things...
1. /Applications/Folding@home.app/
2. /Library/LaunchDaemons/Folding@home.plist
3. /Library/PreferencePanes/Folding@home.prefPane/
4. ~/Library/Folding@home/
Step four is in your home folder.
